Found by metal detectors in Riga, Latvia.

Age: Unconfirmed
Possibly 12-13th century.

The Daugava River, at the mouth of Riga, was part of the Vikings' Dvina-Dnieper navigation route to Byzantium. What is now the capital of Latvia began development as a centre of Viking trade during the early Middle Ages. Mentioned in ancient chronicles, the route stretched from Scandinavia through Latvian territory via the Daugava River to the ancient Kievan Rus' and Byzantine Empire.

A historical reproduction from the Viking Age original (which was covered in museum wax, delicately molded, and completely unharmed!) this sterling silver signet ring has been oxidized for contrast. Etched signet surface is 15x13mm with additional engraved striations on both sides.

Currently available in sizes 6 thru 10 - use the drop down menu above.
