Details: The Claddagh is a type of Fede Ring, in which fede derives from the Latin phrase mani in fede ("hands [joined] in faith/loyalty"). These rings date from Roman times, when the gesture of clasped hands was a symbol of pledging vows.

Fede rings are cast in the form of two clasped hands, symbolizing faith, trust, or 'plighted troth' (betrothal). Though this style of ring has been crafted in Galway, Ireland since the 1700's, the name "Claddagh Ring" began in 1840's England, at which time the surmounted crown motif was often added to heart and hands.

Solidly cast in artisan sterling silver, enhanced by a glistening mirror polish, the carving encircles the entire top of the finger, 10mm tall. The weight and band thickness is heavy enough for a man, and can be resized larger upon request.

Arrives in a stylish RockLove gift tin.
